Exchange OWA Search – The action couldn’t be completed.

You may get “The action couldn't be completed. Please try again.” error when you do a search in Exchange OWA.

Event 9842 / Content Indexing
Function CISearch::EcGetRowsetAndAccessor detected that content indexing was disabled for database '<db name>' because of error '0x80041820' from MSSearch.

To fix this issue open Services.msc and restart below services in this order.

1. Microsoft Search (Exchange) – This will prompt of restart “Microsoft Exchange Search Indexer” go ahead and restart the services.
2. Microsoft Exchange Information Store – This will dismount and mount the databases.

Now check the search result.
